    >>> AVAILABLE NOW: HERE

The LifeSize Squire, NOWhere Limited Exclusive Edition Jermaine Rogers, painted fiberglass, 24 inches tall, edition of 30.

Buy this now.

We are pleased to announce a rare and exciting opportunity for sculpture collectors: Jermaine Rogers’ iconic fiberglass edition the LifeSize Squire is available through NOWhere Limited for the last time, now, while supplies last.

There are just 2 of the blue “NOWhere Limited Exclusive” version from the original edition of 30 produced in 2007 and only 1 of the black “Shadow” variant from the original edition of 10, also produced that year available.

The editions have long since sold out. In 2008, a piece from the blue edition sold at auction via Phillips de Pury & Company New York for more than twice its original asking price. The pieces we are offering here were on display inside NOWhere Limited Gallery in Colorado during 2007 and 2008 and do not include the original corrugated cardboard packaging. They do show some minor wear and tear from being on display. We have priced them accordingly. The price does not include the cost of shipping, which will be calculated according to delivery location.

The LifeSize Squire, Shadow Edition Jermaine Rogers, painted fiberglass, 24 inches tall, edition of 10.

In addition to the large 2 ft x 2ft “LifeSize” pieces, we are also offering a very limited amount of special edition small rotocast vinyl versions of the Squire, produced in 2005. Choose from the Black Shadow Squire or the Rare Unpainted version.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
The Killingstar project began more than a decade ago with a phrase muttered in sleep. “Just a killing star” has since become the inspiration for hundreds of artworks detailing the inner workings of the artist’s alternate persona.

CLICK MORT – RECAPITATED FIGURES

April 12th, 2012

NOWhere Limited Contemporary Art is pleased to announce the addition of artwork by Click Mort to its catalog.

Oddly Dressed Child Painting on a Bird’s Back, Click Mort, recapitated figure, 6 x 6 x 3.5 in, 2012.

A suite of 12 one-of-a-kind pieces by Click Mort are now available exclusively through NOWhereLimited.com: here

Click Mort’s work centers on indiscreet modifications to vintage porcelain figurines. Each piece is a unique consolidation of two or more previously unrelated figures, bringing together objectively incongruous elements and making them visually and aesthetically congruent. The result is a sort of vaguely disorienting nostalgia, where the viewer is cozily brought back to a time and place that weren’t there to begin with. Mr. Mort’s formal training consists of a single high school ceramics class, where the tendency of his pieces to explode when fired eventually led to him being banned from the kiln. He has since opted to work only with pre-fired materials. Other iterations of his recapitated figures have been shown at La Luz de Jesus in Los Angeles and Webb Gallery in Waxahachie, Texas.

ABOUT THE PIECE:
I’d Love To Turn You On is “PNE’s weird tribute to one of the greatest bands of modern times, The Beatles,” says PNE’s web site. “Drawing a vibe from their combined childhood love of 1970s carnival art and pop exploitation, the artists of PNE have created the type of kitsch imagery that is a constant feature hiding in the underbelly of rock and roll culture.” The regular edition of this print debuted to much acclaim at the 2009 TRPS Poster Show in San Francisco, California.

ABOUT PNE:
Post Neo Explosionism (PNE) occurs when artists Justin Hampton, Emek and Jermaine Rogers work together. These 3 favorites of contemporary rock poster art collectors and the new pop art scene have each been working independently since the 1990’s and began collaborating as PNE in 2002. From 2002-2005, PNE helped pioneer the idea of rock ‘poster series,’ by creating individual images to coincide with dates on a band’s tour schedule. PNE made series for QOTSA, Audioslave, Built To Spill and did a set of posters for Todd Phillips’ movie The Hangover.

DON PORCELLA – STICKS AND STONES WILL BREAK YOUR BONES…

Sticks and Stones will Break your Bones, but Words will Never Hurt Me, Don Porcella, pipe cleaner and mixed media, signed and numbered edition of 5 for each piece in the series, $500 USD + shipping.

Buy this now.

NOWhere Limited Contemporary Art is pleased to present a series of 6 hand-made, limited edition pieces by Don Porcella.

Titled Sticks and Stones will Break your Bones, but Words will Never Hurt Me, this series features a variety of action figures Porcella weaves from pipe cleaner and packages in poly-bags with header cards (labels) he draws. Each of the figures offered through NOWhere Limited is limited to an edition of 5, hand-crafted and numbered by the artist.

Each piece in the Sticks and Stones… series “depicts a name that people call other people,” says Porcella. “The action figures and the labels work together to show just how silly names can be.”

Porcella’s action figure series are included in many prominent art collections, like those of Beth Rudin DeWoody, Jeffrey Deitch, Mary Boone, Eli Broad and Morgan Spurlock. Add one or more to your collection by ordering: here, while supplies last.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
From the artist’s web site: “Inspired by nature, consumer culture, and science fiction, Don Porcella’s work is highly-reflective of his upbringing; his artist mother and physician father made almost everything by hand, which can be seen in his art that celebrates craft, the hand-made, and folk and outsider art. Porcella’s interest in nature and human evolution came from exploring the Sierra Nevada wilderness. Now living and working in NYC, Porcella seems to be recalling his earlier experiences in an animalistic call of the wild. By creating paintings, sculpture, drawings and installations from materials such as handmade wax and woven pipe cleaners, Porcella seeks to transform these low-brow materials and elevate them to a high art context, while simultaneously laughing at the human condition and presenting a unique world that is shamelessly awkward and unabashedly comical. Porcella’s work often references art historical movements, America’s rampant consumerism, and alien conspiracy theories, which allows the subjective and strange to penetrate humorous representations of a wildly imaginative reality.”

Born and raised in Modesto, California, Porcella’s artwork has been exhibited at galleries in New York City and around the globe, and has been reviewed in such publications as the New York Times, San Francisco Magazine and the Village Voice. He has a BA in Psychology from the University of California at San Diego, a BFA from California College of Arts and Crafts and an MFA from Hunter College in New York. Porcella has received grants from the Council on the Arts and Humanities for Staten Island, the Brooklyn Arts Council, and an Emerging Artist Fellowship from Socrates Sculpture Park.

He is currently an artist-in-residence at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York through mid-April 2012. A book of “100 Artist Interviews by Don Porcella” will be published in Fall 2012 by Brooklyn Artists Label and a book about his art is being planned for release in 2013. Look for Porcella’s artwork in several group exhibitions later this year and next, and an upcoming solo show in New York.
