EMEK'S BEE AT NOWHERE LIMITED

November 26, 2007 - "Bee" ready this Wednesday... NOWhere Limited is pleased to announce the upcoming release of Bee, a limited edition silkscreen by acclaimed artist Emek! At the recommendation of his good friend Jermaine Rogers, Emek sought out NOWhere Limited to release this exciting fine art edition.

Bee will be available for purchase at NOWhere Limited on WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 28, 2007, 2PM Eastern Time. This exquisitely detailed art print features 8 colors and measures 18 x 24 inches. It is a signed and numbered edition of 150. Each print comes with a matching numbered handbill. The price for the print (including the bonus handbill) is set at $75 USD + shipping. There is a strict one per customer limit.

"If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would only have four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man."

Emek, who has been referred to as "The Thinking Man's Poster Artist," often interprets or hints at current events with his imagery and even his choice of art materials. This particular piece is printed on recycled hemp paper and was inspired by the ominous words of Albert Einstein, quoted above. With the questionable state of today's ecology and the recent news of Colony Collapse Disorder decimating the world's honey bee population, Emek's arresting image suddenly seems too pertinent for comfort. Look closely at Emek's Bee and you'll notice the sky is exceptionally foreboding.

We indeed live in scary times, but at least we have great art to get us through...

Emek has been referred to as "The Thinking Man's Poster Artist." Coming from a unique family of 5 artists, Emek has made his mark creating special limited edition silkscreen posters for live concerts around the world. His style thrives on attention to detail, coupled with layers of meaning in the artwork. His infusion of socio-political commentary into pop culture imagery has made his work instantly recognizable in the field. Emphasizing craftsmanship, his work is still hand-drawn in the tradition of the classic psychedelic posters from the 1960's. Born in the 70's Emek was also strongly influenced by the DIY punk flyers of the 80’s.

Over the last 2 decades, Emek has created hundreds of posters for some of the top alternative bands and events, like Coachella, Queens of the Stone Age, Tool, System of a Down, Jane's Addiction, The Flaming Lips, to name a few, as well as album covers from Neil Young and Pearl Jam to Henry Rollins and Erykah Badu. Emek's work has been shown in galleries across the United States, in Berlin, London and Tokyo and Belgium and Canada. He has been interviewed on CNN, featured in dozens of magazines and books (covers of Juxtapoz magazine, covers of SWAG poster book, etc. etc.) and he feels lucky to count Jermaine Rogers and Justin Hampton as his close friends.
