Ryan Humphrey – All or Nothing

Ryan Humphrey - Burst into Light

It’s as though the 1970’s have risen from the ashes at DCKT Contemporary. Ryan Humphrey has opened his latest show “All or Nothing”. The exhibition has a macho theme that predates political correctness, leaning back to a time that it was acceptable to flex in public. The discourse moves from the classic Trans Am imagery to the ice box adorned with stickers and filled with alcohol and condiments. This work is truly all or nothing and if you don’t like it, Humphrey may beat you down without a thought of legal ramification.

thank you ryan humphrey, for today i will rise up and be listening to screaming for vengeance from judas priest, instead of simply enduring what my college radio has turned into. i do really like the contrast of all the mandala forms with metal starburst screaming eagle eyes on fire. also, the refrigerator idea is worthy indeed: who doesn’t want to immediately copy it? i might have to pass on the jagermeister, though.
